Financing your studies

In Switzerland, parents are legally obliged to pay for their children's education until they have completed their first professional training, i.e. a Master degree.To ensure equal opportunity, the cantons contribute to financing education by means of scholarships or loans. Thus, the first point of contact for Swiss students or foreign nationals with permanent residence in Switzerland (Type C residence permit) is their cantonal scholarship office. Students from outside Switzerland should primarily seek funding in their country of origin.

ETH Zurich can award supplementary needs-based scholarships. The Scholarship Office can provide further information.

Student exchange programmes

Exchange students do not have to pay tuition fees. The exchange office informs about possible exchange scholarships.
