"Treffpunkt Science City" uses different event models to impart knowledge in an interesting and easily understandable way.

Hands-on research

Scientists present their findings in several short 45-minute lectures, give laboratory tours, offer live demonstrations of their innovative techniques and display their current work. A one-day program for families and knowledge seekers. Sundays from 11 am – 4 pm at Science City, ETH Hönggerberg.

Science Talk

"Science Talk" is a forum where open discussions between a prominent member from the world of business, politics, culture, sports, media or society and a scientist or scholar of their choice take place. At the centre of this informative exchange of ideas are two prominent figures, from both the public and scientific sector, that shape our world in different ways. Science Talk is moderated by Rolf Probala. A Sunday morning program for all those interested in getting to know exceptional people and their insights. From 11 to 12 o’clock in the chemistry building cafeteria at Science City.

Science Talk Littéraire

Where literature meets science. In "Science Talk littéraire" writers read from their works and discuss with scientists about different ways of telling life's stories. It’s interesting to analyze the difference between what words reveal and what data imparts about our reality. The scientific / literary discussion format is a joint production of Diogenes publishing house and ETH Zurich. An evening program for all who are interested in unusual encounters. "Science Talk littéraire" takes place on Wednesday evenings.

Podium

"Podium" is an interesting debate on a controversial topic at the interface between science and the public, organized by ETH Zurich in cooperation with Tages-Anzeiger. An evening program for all who are interested in addressing current issues. "Podium" takes place on Wednesday evenings at Science City or ETH center.

Visit

Every spring and autumn "Treffpunkt Science City" invites its guests to a guided tour of a facility or an exhibition, corresponding to the current "Treffpunkt" theme. An evening program for those interested in an original approach to deeper understanding of the "Treffpunkt" topic. "Visit" takes place on Wednesday evenings.

Evening Talk

At "evening talk" scientists from different disciplines present their views on the "Treffpunkt" theme and discuss their often unusual and surprising conclusions with the public. "Evening talk" is a joint production of ETH and Collegium Helveticum and takes place on Wednesday evenings. An evening program for those who enjoy lateral thinking and surprises.

Science City Junior / Children's Lecture

"Science City Junior" invites children between 5 and 8 years of age to playfully explore a topic from the universe of knowledge. "Children's Lecture" affords children 7-13 years old interesting insights into an exciting field of knowledge. The children's program is supervised and takes place on event Sundays in the chemistry building cafeteria. "Science City Junior" is open from 11 am – 4 pm with the children’s lecture taking place at 1 pm.
