Max Frisch Archive

The Max Frisch Archive, which was set up in 1981, while Max Frisch was still alive, has been open to the public, free of charge, since 1983. It is a centre for people who are studying and researching the writer and architect Max Frisch (1911–1991).

The Archive collects, preserves and makes available documents about his life and times, his literary and dramatic works, his relationships with friends and critics and his lifelong preoccupation with “foreignness” and his homeland.

As well as manuscripts, letters, reviews and essays, sound recordings and pictures, documents about performances of his plays and his work as an architect, all Frisch’s published works and a near-complete collection of secondary literature are also available as a reference library.
