Rector
Prof. Dr. Lino Guzzella
Professor Dr. Lino Guzzella is Rector of ETH Zurich since 1 August 2012:
The Rector is responsible for education within the Executive Board. He is in charge of admissions to study programmes at all levels and for the organisation and management of study-related matters, including the examination process.
The Rector is responsible for approving continuing education courses and for scholarships. He confers the "venia legendi" (permission to teach) and teaching assignments, and issues invitations to visiting professors and lecturers and academic guests. He is responsible for the cooperation with secondary schools and for agreements on inter-university programmes and student exchanges.

The
Rector is supported in his work by two Prorectors: the Prorector for Education and
the Prorector for Doctoral Studies.
